What is NSERVE?
NSERVE is an acronym for
North Suburban Educational Region for Vocational Education.

Representing approximately 24,000 secondary students across five districts, NSERVE oversees state and federal grants for the 9 high schools it serves. These funds support Career and Technical Education (CTE) by providing professional development, equipment, and instructional materials. CTE courses offer hands-on, integrated learning experiences that help students link their academic knowledge to real-world skills needed in today’s workforce.

NSERVE also partners with Oakton College to promote articulated CTE programs and support dual credit opportunities, giving students a head start on their postsecondary education.

Currently, NSERVE manages over $1.5 million in state and federal grant funding through the following programs:
-
State Career and Technical Education Improvement Funds – to enhance and expand CTE programs at the secondary level.
-
Federal Perkins Funds – to support secondary students in special populations participating in CTE programs.
